Activists gathered at the Newton Police Department in Los Angeles yesterday to demand justice for Alex Flores, a 34-year-old Latino who was killed by police last November.
The activists want to shut down the Los Angeles Police Department and demanded Jackie Lacey, District Attorney of Los Angeles County resign. In two decades nearly 900 were shot and killed by the LAPD and most were Black or Latino. After the killing of George Floyd such protests have sparked in Los Angeles County.
Activists marched from S Central Avenue to the police department and chanted, “If we don’t get it, shut it down. The racist system, shut it down and Who killed Alex? LAPD!”
